	Buttermere. Cumbria. 4th November 2007 There are some places where the tread of photographers feet must be a major cause of erosion. The shore of Buttermere to the south of Crag Wood is just such a location. It’s this view towards Warnscale with the Gatesgarth pines in the foreground that has become one of the iconic views of the Lake district. On a calm morning like this with such a perfect reflection in the water who could honestly resist such a shot.



	I counted at least half a dozen photographers on the strand as the sun rose that morning and I suspect we all got pretty much the same results. At the same time I don’t suppose any of us were disappointed with our results that day.
