Roche Rock, Cornwall.
10th January 2009
I have seen pictures of the chapel on Roche Rock many times but always taken from the same place, the side nearest the road.
I think this fooled me into thinking that there must be few other shots to be found here, because I have often driven past this location without even investigating it.
That is a mistake I will not be repeating in the future.
The chapel, dedicated to St. Michael in 1409 is built on a granite outcrop that has attracted so much folk lore I suspect it was a sacred site long before the Christian’s adopted it.
